4 Steps to Boost Your Inner Confidence

Updated: Feb 16

Do you find yourself playing small and hiding from your greatest self? Do you sometimes feel lost and wonder what in the world you're doing? Are you feeling stuck as if you're living life on a constant treadmill not really going anywhere?

If you answered yes, to any of the questions above, perhaps it's time for a quick confidence boost. It's time to take a look inside and remind yourself what amazing traits you already possess.

Because you are human, you have access to all possible human traits. Some traits you use more often than others. Below are 4 steps you can take to tap into the traits you would like to enhance and celebrate within yourself.

Step One: We often have role models, people we admire that show us the traits we would like to express. Doing a bit of investigating to find out what it is about these individuals that inspires us, can give us insight into what we want to strengthen in ourselves. Please allow some quality time to answer the following questions:

Who are your top 3 role models? Who do you admire? They can be real or in your imagination. They can be someone you know or don't know. They can be a movie star, a character in a book, alive or dead. Please list your top three role models below:

1_____________________ 2____________________ 3______________________

Step Two: For each of your role models named above, make a list of the characteristics that you most admire in them and why. For example, you may admire the leadership and persistence of Eleanor Roosevelt because she courageously stepped into leading the United Nations based on her strong convictions regarding human rights.

Be sure to list as many traits as possible and why each is important to you. Click here for a downloadable list of personality traits to help get you started.

Step Three: Which of these qualities would you like to emulate or have for yourself? How could you strengthen these traits within you? How can you bring these traits into your everyday life?

Think how you could adapt what your role models do to fit into your unique life.
